It is a very over cast saturday and with the all clear from the Prime Minster and Chief Medical Officer that it is alright to return to the beaches in this Covid-19 Pandemic  Trini Limers Crew has put on their Runic beach shoes packed the beach gear and journeyed to Mayaro Beach.

We drove North of the Mayaro Junction on the long and peaceful and postcard like coconut tree laden rough hewn asphalt Manzanilla Mayaro road to Ortoire, the tiny village with colourful parlours and houses to find "Dutty's",(next door to the un opened Clean and Brand Spanking New, painted Pink,             Ducky's Ortoire Organic Roast Seafood Limited building).

We were told we had to wait 1 hour for the order and the couple before us had gotten their order which looked alright with a blushing red lobster and yellow corn on the cob smothered in butter at 1:30 pm after a long wait on the makeshift benches.

The Trini Limers Crew got anxious at all of the flies swarming around the banana leaves that were used to wrap the fish and lobster as it was baking in the outdoor oven and we were triggered to leave.

The food was well presented but we suggest the stall have a garden type mosquito zapper and we also discovered a slight of hand with the weight and price of the baked fish which is understandable and that would follow us to our next destination.

The Ranch,

Just south of the Mayaro Junction heading south on the Guayaguayare Mayaro Road opposite the Open Bible Church when the aluminum buildings begin to disappear in your rearview mirror and the coconut trees begin to populate your windscreen is a very rustic looking wooden and concrete building that could be a darker version of the little house on the prairie furnished with Indian regalia (Feather and Bollywood Dot) and Carib, Angostura and NUVO Wines for her.

We arrived with a slight appetite still intact and after changing our minds about the baked fish and lobster because the slight of hand is to pay for the weight of the guts of the fish before preparation, we placed our order and in less than 5 minutes we got the Veg appetizers and Fried Shrimp and Fries platters

and the Pepper Wedges and Pepper Shark

, all meats were dipped in a flour batter and fried following with the drinks Coca Cola and Sprite.

We all agreed that the food tasted good and spicy.

For dessert the Cheese cake is very good and the staff were very helpful and kind from start until we decided to leave and hit the beach.

On our way back we kept noticing the phenomenon of the roasted fish and grill lobster by little stalls littering Mayaro Village but none were operational at 6:46pm.

I Scream for Ice cream, Gulf City Mall, Gulf View, La Romaine,City of San Fernando. Welcomes Soody's ice cream shop for locally made ice cream, coffee and desserts, they have joined the ranks of Willie's Ice cream, TCBY Treats, Gelato ice cream shop, to have graced Gulf City Mall. It is accessed from the North Tower Parkade and you can take the futuristic elevator to the 1st Floor and exit towards the west and look for the sign. The prices for ice cream range from $25 and up with as much as 15 flavours to choose from all made with local ingredients, I got the $73 Chocolate Milkshake although one of the  ladies that served me recommended the caramel. When I arrived the shop was empty but with in seconds the floor was packed with parents and their children and singles and the odd couple and the rare Guerilla Gardener Tanty passing through that sold me the Jahaji Bundle diet, a two bundle of bodi to curry and eat with some Sadha roti later.
